Pressed tulip #1 swans One of a series ofFrom my ongoing Memento Flores series. Flower pressing is the ancient art of preserving flowers and other botanicals between two flat surfaces until they dry. I like to think of flower pressing as a precursor to the invention of photography. The process allows us, without a camera, to capture the fleeting beauty of flowers in perpetuity. 3000 year old dried flowers have been discovered in the Egyptian pyramids. When dried flowers are photographed and
